The biggest complaints about taxes in North Carolina:1. Sales tax on groceries. It just doesn’t seem right that for lack of tax money someone who is hungry might otherwise buy food. 2. Cigarette taxes. Supposedly, most people want an increase. Well, of course they want an increase if they don’t smoke. Someone else gets to pay their fair share of taxes. With the proposed tax increase which will most like be voted in, the state will increase the money it makes on cigarettes from 29% to 77% due to triple taxation. |
